Love ice cream cakes but don’t love making complicated recipes? We’re in the same boat. 🙂 Here’s a super simple ice cream cake cheat my mom found one day!
Unfortunately, she can’t remember where she found this brilliant discovery…my sincere kudos to whoever you are! ❤
All you need is:
- A cake mix or your favorite cake batter recipe
- Ice cream
Step 1: Whip up and bake two layers of your cake of choice.
Step 2: Let the ice cream thaw a little, then scoop into a cling-wrap lined cake pan.
Step 3: Squish, smash, and spread the ice cream until it forms a solid layer in the pan.
Step 4: Freeze the ice cream layer until solid.
Step 5: Once the cakes are cool and removed from their pans, flip the ice cream layer onto one of them, and top with the other! 😀
Step 6: Top with your favorite frosting, and keep frozen until you’re ready to enjoy! Piece of cake, LOL! 😉
The flavors and combinations are really fun to experiment with–we’ve made a red velvet cake with strawberry ice cream, and even a cookies ‘n cream style cake!
