Yes my friends, you can make corn dogs at home! 😀 And it’s not really that hard! All you need is some simple cornbread batter ingredients, hot dogs (of course), some skewers, and an electric skillet (or fryer) filled with oil.
This all started one morning last week…it was freezing cold outside, snow was on the ground–and my mom was just tired of the cold. Then all of the sudden, she had this bright idea! Let’s make corn dogs! So within 5 minutes of searching on the internet we had our recipe. Thank you Joanne from fifteenspatulas.com:
We made a triple batch of batter…but instead of getting the expected 12 corn dogs, we got about 24! Not sure if it had to do with the way we were dipping them or what; it was nice to have the extras anyways. 😉
Needless to say, we did have leftovers; they crisped up fairly well when we stuck them in a 300 F oven for about 15 minutes.
