If you are a horse lover or have a horse loving friend, this is the craft for you! It’s relatively simple, fun to make, and it would make a wonderful gift.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A 9.5 in. by 6.5 in (or similar size) wooden board
- My free horse head template (above)
- Glitter glue (optional)
- Mod Podge (optional)
- Small fake flowers (optional)
First, cut out the template and trace the outline onto your board.
Once you’ve traced the basic outline, run along the details (hair, eyes, etc.) with your pencil, pressing down very hard. When you’re done, you’ll be able to see faint indented lines in the wood, which will hopefully be visible in the picture below☺️:
Next, use your pen to color in the eyes, nose, and mouth.
Here’s where your creativity comes in!😄 Decide on a color scheme, grab out those paints (and maybe even a little glitter glue🥳) and go for it! If the eyes, nose, and mouth get a little covered up in the process, you can just go over them with your pen again.😉 You don’t have to, but I like to put a coat of Mod Podge on my painting projects once they’re finished.
Now use your stencils to write a pretty message…
Glue a couple of flowers in the hair…
Nail a bracket on the back and you’re done! Wrap it up to give as a gift, or hang it up in a special place!🙂
Hope you have fun with this project!😊
